This is a great capture of the elements! Not somewhere I'd want to be standing with a golf club.

Doug says of this image ... "There are a range of different settings that can work, but to start try setting your tripod mounted camera to it's lowest ISO, shutter speed to 15 seconds and aperture to f8 in manual mode with manual focus set to infinity"

Infinity? Maybe the NIKON range has this feature, but I am yet to find anything on my CANON that says 'infinity'. What is the equivalent, or what does he mean?

All help appreciated.

Many lenses don't show a focus scale, but those that do use the symbol for infinity to show when the lens is set to the maximum focus distance. (the infinity symbol is a figure 8 on its side)

All lenses have the option of focussing to infinity and even beyond.
I believe they go beyond to allow for differences in the optical properties of your lens as temperature changes.

Generally any good lens that has a focus window will have a focus scale as will any macro lens.
