Simply. No.
The screen represents your sensor and the sensor is where life size is measured.
If your subject fills the full height of your screen then it is covering the full 24mm height of your 24mm x 36mm sensor.

Bag Choice
A recent discussion on another forum about insurance for a dropped lens actually highlighted the importance of choosing appropriate peripherals in the first place.
The owner of the damaged $2500 lens had dropped it after stuffing it too carelessly into his bag to move quickly to another location without reversing the lens hood.

I have been asked by a friend to photograph at his mothers 50th in a few weeks. It will be in a dark room, I am wondering if I would need a external flash or would the flash on my Olympus e620 to suffient??

I tried the bulk uploader but it just hangs after the javascript symbol appears.
