David W replied to David W's discussion Is this 1:1 (Life size) Macro? in the group General Photo Discussion
"Thanks again Doug and final question: I did an experiment by taking a picture of a ruler at the closest distance to cover the whole width of the 36mm sensor which was 0cm~6cm on the ruler marking, after that, I stacked the same ruler on top of the…"

David W replied to David W's discussion Is this 1:1 (Life size) Macro? in the group General Photo Discussion
"Thank you Doug for your precious response. So what you're saying in another words is that if i use a rectangular shaped object measuring 24mm x 36mm and took a picture of it, the image of the object should just cover the whole LCD screen, is…"

Is this 1:1 (Life size) Macro?

Hi all, please, can somebody answer this question for me???I made a macro lens from some old lenses which I salvaged, and when I put my newly-made "macro lens" in front of a 50mm lens and took a photo of  a $1 coin at the closest distance, the picture of the coin displayed on the camera's LCD screen is exactly the same size as the actual $1 coin. Does this mean I have made a 1:1 macro lens? By the way my camera is a full frame thank youSee More

David W replied to Cheryl Mackie's discussion Photo Printer in the group General Photo Discussion
"I strongly recommend Canon and Epson printers, check the specs to find out what you really need, but bear in mind that ink economy is also an important part when purchasing printer. If you only print 6x4 photos then you only need to buy a compact…"

David W replied to David W's discussion How to use EF-s lenses on a FF camera in the group Canon
"In my opinion, because I've only had it for nearly 1 month, it's an extremely good camera, with good noise control at high ISO setting. But sadly nothing too exciting or of surprises when upgraded from the 5D. Overall I'd still…"
