Thanks for the info. I took some images on Thursday night, similar settings and lens but no tracking so had tiny star trails.

Sure, no problem, this is a tracked image (using home made tracking platform) , comprised of 10, 2.5minute exposures, taken near Mount Pleasant, South Australia. I took this using a Canon 400D, Canon 17-40mm lens @ 40mm, F5.6, ISO800. I stacked and aligned the images using a program called Deep Sky Stacker, with final adjustments in Photoshop.
