Rode and the Canon 5D MK II

"Most video folk will tell you that 60% of any film is in the sound."

The RØDE NTG-2 and Videomic as well as Canon's 5D MK II were recently featured in the prestigious British Journal of Photography (January 2009) as photojournalist Edmond Terakopian covered the HD video capabilities of Canon's new digital SLR, the 5D MK II

Edmond was extremely impressed with the mics' performance, and used the Videomic on a short film he shot for the peice. View it here on Edmond's blog.

EOS 5DII Firmware Upgrade update- adds 24 and 25fps HD Movie recording "A Canon 5D Mark II has become the first video-capable DSLR to film a whole episode of a US primetime series. Greg Yaitanes, director of FOX broadcasting company's medical drama series 'House', used the camera, a selection of Canon's prime lenses and, the 24-70mm and 70-200mm lenses to shoot its season finale. Speaking via Twitter, he said that this was to achieve a shallow depth of field and a 'richer look'. He also said he 'feels it’s the future'." - source www.dpreview.com

Sigma Japan organized the photo shoot event for the famous bloggers in the last weekend. We invited some of the famous photo bloggers who have bunch of accesses and rented our lenses. The purpose was to have them write about the lens that they use. The popular lenses were 50mm F1.4, 70-200mm F2.8 OS, 24-70mm 2.8, 17-50mm F2.8 DC OS, 8-16mm DC, 30mm F1.4 DC and new 85mm 1.4.

The event was so successful and the blogs about the event were uploaded now, which collect many accesses. I hope this stimulates our potential customers.

As blogs are written in Japanese, so I do not give you the links, but one of the blogger used 85mm F1.4 for the video using EOS5D MkII. Now it's on Youtube. Very shallow depth of the field (bokeh) that 85mm provides succeed in making the dreamy atmosphere in the video.

Enjoy the beautiful video.
